FAQs

When completely or close to flat, you risk damaging your rims by driving any distance at all. While the flat tyre will act as a cushion, it will be nothing more than that. If you can’t inflate it whatsoever, put the spare on and have the tyre replaced as soon as possible.

If you have to pop your spare tyre on, the general rule is to not drive any faster than 50mph, and no further than 70 miles. Unless you have a new tyre as the spare, spares don’t usually have a deep enough tread to last for long, and you could compromise other parts of your car by driving on it any further.
